Sweet and Tangy Chutney/Sauce

A simple sweet and sour chutney/sauce made with Karonda (Carissa Carandas).

Carissa Carandas is a species of flowering shrub in the family Apocynaceae. It produces berry-sized fruits that are commonly used as a condiment in Indian pickles and spices. (source: Wikipedia).
It is rich in vitamin C, and is also known to have decent amounts of iron, potassium, and zinc.

Karonda – ¼ cup
Cilantro – 1 cup
Mint (Optional) – ¼ cup
Water – 2 tbsp. or as needed
Salt – ¼ tsp. or to taste
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Directions
- Grind karonda to a thick paste in a grinder
- Add other ingredients except water and grind
- Add water needed, only add enough to aid grinding.
- If using this as a dipping sauce, add about ¼ cup water.
- Serve with your favorite food.
